HOPE Food Delivery Ministry

H.O.P.E.  (Holistic Outreach thru Personal Encounters) Food Bank Delivery Ministry

We are honored to be a part of God's plan to extend His compassion and Hope of the gospel to the surrounding Alhambra community through the avenue of Food Bank Deliveries. It is to this end that we have partnered with the Community Crisis Center to bring essentials to those in need during this pandemic. Unlike other food banks, we have the liberty to deliver food and the gospel message. God is good!

Volunteer

Seeds of Life Church family, we want to share God’s love with local families by meeting tangible needs. We are taking sign ups for volunteers interested in picking up groceries at the distribution site, sorting and dropping off deliveries at families’ homes, and/or coordinating deliveries.

Where They Are Going & How They Will Be Ministering
We will be serving the Lord in Masatepe, Nicaragua beginning September 1, 2021! One Collective, the organization we are part of, aims to reflect Jesus’ ministry in the communities they serve. This means focusing on sharing the gospel while also meeting the physical needs of the most vulnerable. In Masatepe, there are three primary ministries; each addresses a specific need in the community:
  • Alcohol addiction among men is a huge problem in the community due to the high poverty and unemployment rate. In partnership with two local churches, One Collective runs a rehab center for these men, staffed by a doctor, a pastor, and a psychologist. So far, 19 men have found restoration through the rehab center.
  • A chicken and pig farm allows One Collective to donate eggs to local elementary schools, as well as fund the rehab center. Child malnutrition is another major issue the community faces, and eggs are a wonderful way for kids to get the protein they need. When chickens are no longer laying eggs efficiently, they are given to families in need through local churches. The farms are on the same property as the rehab center, and men in the rehab center work on the farms.
  • Beto’s Bistro is a coffee shop that is a gathering place for the whole community. It employs people in the community. Bible studies and worship nights are held there. It is a place where people who are interested in learning more about the gospel are connected with churches in Masatepe.

Joseph will be working on infrastructure projects related to the function of the rehab center and chicken and pig farm. Claire will be coordinating short-term serve teams from churches and universities in the US. We will be working in close partnership with an amazing team of Nicaraguan staff.
